Despite everything that has happened within the last few days, I slept remarkably well! Yesterday I was made a Brother of the Lone 7 to take the place of Jonas McElderry, also known as SEVERE. Now that the L7 is back up to strength, COLUS says it is time to begin the hard work to bring HoN Co. down! I don't quite get what he means by this, but I assume it just means to stop them acting out their evil plan... After learning what HoN Co. does to miners who have lost their usefulness, I'm game!
After another delicious breakfast, we all met in the discussion room to finalise the plan for today's mission. Well, all except for OROTHO who never seems to eat, sleep or do anything else apart from experiment and gather research! ME, THEROS and UOPETA are going to set out towards the North to find a tower that is rumoured to be placed near to the master portal. After learning about what the master portal is used for, I'm definitely ready to go! If it can really do what is theorised, the safety of all Minecraftia, and everything that lives here is at stake! If it is activated, Minecraftia will mutate into the Nether, where HoN Co. would have access to powerful energy resources, literally untapped! COLUS spread out a map across the table, and ringed through main locations to the North of us. From the map they all seemed like natural locations: sandy beaches of dark stone for cliffs or bare floor. It was difficult to determine the location of much from an aerial view map, but it was the best we had. It would have to do.
We had decided that it would be best to take as little as possible, being able to travel faster if we traveled light. We would head to the first location due North of the base, head East to the second, and then proceed North East to the last location. If we found nothing at any of the sights, we would assess the map in the field, and attempt another search. UOPETA was keen to see how I performed by being stealthy and when under pressure. But they said I would be fine if I followed their instructions to the letter. Well, if UOPETA had really been following me for many weeks without me knowing, it would be best to listen to him! He obviously knew what he was doing.
"If we move fast, we should be able to check all three locations before nightfall. We might even manage to get back as well. The more time we spent out there, the more risk we expose ourselves to. THEROS, you know what to do. You've been along with me before. SYEONYX? Just follow us!"
I understood that the success of this mission would be a pivotal point in the battle to stop HoN Co., and I didn't want to be the one to mess it up! After finishing up, we headed off to our rooms to fetch the vital supplies we needed. Turns out, the only things I needed were the bow and quiver! I ensured it was fully stocked and threw it over my shoulder. Chiron was intrigued by what I was doing, and wanted to come along, but I managed to keep him in the room. He looked a little down, but he would brighten up when I got back. If I got back... Maybe Chiron can play with the other wolf... Which I still hadn't seen yet! I met THEROS and UOPETA in the discussion room, before heading towards the exit. A flick of the switch and the barricade shifted into the ceiling. We passed over the lava river and then everything settled back into place; the barricade came back down, and the sand slipped back beneath the lava. THEROS pulled another lever, and we waited at the base of the ladder.
"We need to give the walkway adequate time to drain. The last thing we need is a flood down here!"
After a few moments, THEROS gave the all clear, and one by one we ascended. As we got closer to the hatch, sunlight streamed down through the little glass windows in the hatch. Today was going to be very interesting!
THEROS and UOPETA are fast! I mean really fast! I don't know how they do it. They sprinted from cover to cover, always effortless and without a sound! I cringed at every noise made by my footsteps, but I was never pulled up about it. They waited patiently behind trees, under outcrops and small sand dunes, allowing me to catch up. It really put into perspective how out of shape I was! I eventually got into the swing of things, and despite being short of breath, I was finding it easier to keep up. We continued heading North... I think... I couldn't tell. UOPETA seemed to know where he was going all the time, and we hadn't brought a map or a compass! Then again, if you spend enough time hiding from someone, having to constantly move around, you get to know the lay of the land. I don't know how much time elapsed until we reached the first location. I don't think it was long; with all the running and hiding, and the adrenaline coursing through my veins, I lost track of time very easily, however the position of the sun put it at about 10 o'clock maybe. From this, I was able to confirm we were heading North, not that I was doubting UOPETA's sense of direction! When we got there, I could tell that we weren't in the right place. If the master portal could only be activated by an electrostatic discharge from a thunderstorm, there would need to be a huge metal tower nearby. Where we were was a small secluded patch of sand and gravel, surrounded by trees. There wasn't any hint of a tower or any other metal structures nearby, so we quickly moved on, ever vigilantly looking out for guards. I knew that if this master portal was as important as they made out, they wouldn't leave it open. There would be guards crawling all over the surrounding area! That, or the tower was on a remote island which was impossible to get to without being spotted! After thinking about this, I eventually went with the former...
We've been going now for about two to three hours, a considerably shorter time than if I was doing this alone! We had headed off East immediately after finding nothing at the first location. This next one was located on another sandy beach area, closer to the shore than the previous one. Close to the water was an actual island, which we would be able to see from the shore. If there was a tower on there, we would see it! The tree line grew incredibly dense, and UOPETA had slowed down. If I didn't know any better, he was on to something! After a short while, there was a gap in the treeline, and sunlight poured through the opening. As I gazed up into the sky from my hidden location to check the time, something caught my eye. I thought it was a strange reflection fro something far away, but turning to look in the direction, I saw what could only be described as a claw grasping at the sky!
I pointed this out to THEROS and UOPETA, but they just nodded silently. Had they seen it too? Or was something else making them act more quietly than usual? We slowly proceeded in the direction of the strange object, darting from tree to tree, never getting up from a crouching stance. As the treeline grew thinner, we slowed down to a crawl. From where I was, I could hear voices. We passed the last few lines of trees until we were only a hundred metres of so from the structure. From where I was I could see a huge stone base, with a metal tower extending high into the sky, ending with a giant claw-like antennae. UOPETA motioned to continue round, and we navigated around the entire stone base, remaining hidden behind the treeline. As we went around, I kept an eye on the guards and the location of an entrance. Eventually we came around to the last side. There were three guards nearby, but still no entrance. How were we to get into something that had no door?!?!

Syeonyx: 7th Brother of the Lone 7!
I've had a lot to think about... About HoN Co. ... The guards and the portals... About the Lone 7... About the task I have been asked to complete... I didn't really have any other option. HoN Co. guards were probably still guarding my house, and it was unsafe to randomly travel from area to area, constantly on the run, sleeping in a tent for the rest of my life! I wasn't going to give in to HoN Co.! That left the one remaining option... Join the Lone 7. I'd sat on the bed of SERVERE's room for some time, going over everything I had been told. Obviously I couldn't say whether it was true or not, but I trusted COLUS for some reason. He had that leadership quality about him which made me want to follow him. Was that a good thing? I suppose it didn't matter. After a long time of thinking, I stood up and left the room to find THEROS. Finding him in the science lab with OROTHO, I told him I was ready.
I stood at the bottom of the small stairs in the discussion room before COLUS and the other five. He stood at the top holding a set of armour, presumably belonging to Jonas... It would seem I am about to take the place of SERVERE as the 7th Brother of the Lone 7.
"The Brothers of the Lone 7 are more than just rebels. We stand united against the evil that has befallen HoN Co. and the rest of Minecraftia. We work vigilantly night and day to quell the the monstrous work that is set before us. We work as one to prevent HoN Co. from gaining unfathomable energy at the cost of the world. We are a symbol of hope in a world that is plagued by unstoppable desires for power and wealth, and we will perform any act to prevent it. Syeonyx. You stand before the Brothers of the Lone 7. Your actions and your bravery have brought you to this place, before us. Your actions have proven to us that your are worthy of the Lone 7 title, and to take your place at the side of you Brothers. We ask much of you, this we all know, but every one of us have had to prove our worth to be able to stand before you with pride this day. Filling the shoes of a beloved Brother who has fallen at the hands of our enemy is never an easy task, but we all believe you have the capacity to do this. In my hands, I hold the black trim armour that belonged to SERVERE, our 7th Brother. I hope that in the days ahead of us, you prove to be worthy of this armour, and all that it stands for. Wear it with pride. Wear it with honour. Wear it with distinction. Wear it for your fellow Brothers and in the name of the Lone 7. Wear it well."
COLUS stepped forward and placed the armour into my hands before ascending the stairs again. They all bowed towards me, and I returned the gesture, arms outstretched.
"We will give you adequate time to dress yourself in your armour, and then you are needed with OROTHO in the science lab. I have informed him of the information you hold concerning Creepers and the Solus stone, and he is most intrigued. This is a first, for him. This could be incredibly helpful to our cause. Once you have helped him, come and seek me out if you wish. I am sure you have many questions to ask, but we are all willing to aid you in any way possible."
COLUS and the others all went there separate ways, except for OROTHO who stood there for a moment longer, gazing at me. He had a look of curiosity written across his face, as though he couldn't work me out... Well, the feeling was mutual! he eventually shuffled off, talking to himself again, and I headed off to the right down towards the quarters.
A few surprises met me when I got there. Firstly, the sign above the room I was allocated has been changed from "SERVERE" to "SYEONYX". Also, the armour is much more comfortable than I had first thought! I've decided against wearing the face mask, but the helm I've taken to quite well. I managed to prop the camera on a shelf and set the timer. I'm hoping to get a photo of all of us, but I have a feeling they will all object to that...
After finishing up with the camera, I left Chiron in the room, and went in search of OROTHO in the science lab. COLUS had said that he had wanted to see me, something to do with the Creepers and the Solus stone. When I got there, everyone else was already present. COLUS was talking to OROTHO, holding the Solus stone in his hand. When they saw me come in, a big grin spread across OROTHO's face. He walked over to me, holding the stone and began to speak, but slower than he usually did. I managed to actually understand him!
"COLUS tells me you have experienced a strange phenomena with the Solus stone and Creepers? Apparently they display a fear for it? Please show us!
He handed the stone to me and walked me over to the glass. On the other side, the Creepers grew interested and edged forward. I held out the stone to the glass and the reaction was instantaneous and unanimous amongst the Creepers; they all backed off, hissing and spitting, mouths wide like the others had before I drove them through the portal. OROTHO made a few intrigued noises, and the others seemed just as interested. I turned around and informed them of what had happened when I had learnt this.
"Curious... The Solus stone repels them and the Affinitas cage attracts them..."
OROTHO approached me, took the stone and began looking at it with keen interest. I was rather confused by this.
"An Affinitas cage is the name given to those strange cages that you have seen. They are used to draw out creatures from the Nether to protect the portals. We heard some of the guards mention this name. It's Latin. It means "affinity"... Like a cat to catnip!"
COLUS stepped towards me, informing me of this, whilst the others quietly chattered to themselves. COLUS beckoned towards the exit:
"Let us leave OROTHO alone with his studies. No doubt he will wish to pursue this lead further."
"Wait! SYEONYX! Do you know any more of the Creepers that is unusual? Any odd behaviour?"
OROTHO turned back around, an arm outstretched. I shrugged. I hadn't noticed anything else about them except for their odd ability to spontaneously explode, no doubt they already knew this. To be honest, I spent my time avoiding them, not getting close to them. I left the lab with the others.
"If you are ready SYEONYX, I will brief you, THEROS and UOPETA about the tower you must find that is close to the master portal. Once you have found it, collect as much information as possible and return, taking care not to get caught or bring anyone back here! "
We all left the lab and headed towards the discussion room. Looks like I was going to prove myself more or less immediately!
The task is set. Me, THEROS and UOPETA are heading out tomorrow to find the tower. I told them of one tower I found which extended into cells that I was held in, but they knew of this already. That wasn't the right one. This tower was constructed of metal, and a conducting rod was placed through the centre to channel electrical energy down to the master portal. UOPETA had provided information as to the possible location of it, saying that he had seen guard patrols off to the North East. I hadn't gone that way so it was unlikely I had been anywhere near it. I'm preparing myself mentally to find this tower, and gather information. Chiron is staying here and we are carrying few supplies. We go in fast and quiet, find out what we can and return. If all goes well, we should be back by late tomorrow. We're expecting heavy HoN Co. guard presence. After all, this was the key element to HoN Co.'s plan, and they wouldn't leave it vulnerable. We wouldn't be able to get anywhere near it to destroy it with a pickaxe or dynamite, and if it is activated via an electrical storm, we're screwed! The Solus stone only works on unstable portals. The plan is to prevent it from ever being activated. Tomorrow could be very fun(!)

Day 82: Getting up to speed...
Despite the comfort of the bed, I didn't get a wink of sleep. I was too busy trying to get everything straight in my head; I had initially assumed that the Lone 7 were a group of ex-miners who were shacked up in a small, underground base, performing raids on HoN Co. guards every now and again... It turns out they're an organised group who run their operations like a military operation, gathering intelligence, and spying on the enemy before making any move. It's much better than I had hoped for, and the fact that they seem willing to embrace me into their group is another thing altogether! They seem to think I possess a skill or attribute which they can put to effective use within their "brotherhood"! I don't know what I can bring to the group... Maybe it's just that I can get things done, no questions asked... I certainly don't remember asking many questions when THEROS was ordering me around!
When I eventually came from SERVERE's room, the other five were seated around the table in the centre of the mess hall. I was asked to sit with them, and a short while after, AMPHIS brought me a plate of sausage and fried eggs! I wolfed it down; it was so delicious! Eventually, AMPHIS stood up, bowed to the rest and returned to the library, with COLUS, THEXIS and UOPETA in tow. THEROS remained at the table with me whilst I finished my breakfast.
"How are you settling in then? I understand there is a lot to take in, but I never said it was going to be easy. You'll have to adapt to our way of living, especially if you decide to join us as the complete Lone 7, and stand in SERVERE's stead."
At this point, I remembered what I had meant to ask him yesterday, and inquired as to the identity of the sixth brother of the Lone 7.
"Ah yes, you didn't meet him yesterday. He is always wrapped up in his work and research. His name's OROTHO; he's the scientist of the group, and spends his days studying the Creepers, and other creatures from the Nether. You should talk to him; it sounds like you could provide some valuable information to him concerning the Creepers and the Solus stone! But first, I'll show you the library. It is a vast place, full of mass amounts of knowledge. No doubt you will find it most useful in one way or another..."
With my final mouthful, I stood up, called Chiron to my side and began to follow THEROS from the room. We followed the passage around the way we had come yesterday, THEROS taking care to lock the room with the hidden barricade. We emerged back into the discussion room, and went straight across to the other side. There, another lever was noticeable, embedded partially into the wall, with the barricade raised. We made a right turn, and before me was a huge room, with every wall lined with a bookshelf, each brimming to bursting point with books, papers, articles, folders and binders. In the centre, a glass column stretched from the floor to the ceiling, and to the right, I could see AMPHIS flicking through the shelves, presumably for a book...
I walked around the entire room, trying to take in what I was seeing. Had all of these books been written by the L7? As I continued around, I noticed a wooden hand rail going around the glass column, and then realised there was a series of stairs.
"No doubt you've worked out that this is only the top floor of the library? There is another layer of books on the floor below, the same size as this floor..."
AMPHIS walked over to THEROS with a large leather-bound book in his hand and said:
"Another floor? There are three floors to this library! This is the top floor, with two more beneath it. Some of the books we've scavenged from other miners, some we have written, some are diaries, journals or reports. I think OROTHO has half the bottom floor devoted to his scientific papers alone!"
I stood there speechless, whilst looking down through the glass column to the floor below, where I could see THEXIS and UOPETA. They were talking, whilst looking for something on the shelves. I wandered around the top floor for some time, examining the titles, and noticing most of them were reports on HoN Co. guard sightings, seemingly written by UOPETA. After a while, THEROS called me over to go and see OROTHO.
"A few things you need to know about OROTHO before you meet him: he's very skittish. He does and says a lot of things faster than most of us can keep up with, but you eventually begin to make sense of what he says. He can also seem to be rather rude, but he is easily engrossed in his research. I think he's currently working with a group of Creepers, so it's unlikely we'll get much sense from him unless we mention the Solus stone. Also, don't insult or play down his experiments. He detests people criticising his work... Aside from that, don't touch anything you're not supposed to, and don't annoy him and you should be fine."
We walked back towards the door. I gazed back around at the library again, amazed at the wealth of information they had accumulated in what I could only assume was a short space of time. Turning around, I prepared myself mentally for meeting the last brother of the Lone 7... I wonder if THEROS had stretched the truth a bit...
We headed down the final passage that sat straight across from the entrance, wondering what OROTHO was going to be like. Once again, the passageway was blocked by the barricade which smoothly and silently slid back into the alcoves in the wall. Straight ahead, I could see a man, dressed in the same armour as the others, with but a dark blue detail to the cloth and cloak. He also wore no helm, and no gauntlets. I assumed that his work may require the delicate touch of a hand rather than a metal glove. As I got closer, I could hear him talking to himself. THEROS had been right! He did talk fast. I could only make out a few words he said, referring to "Creepers", "thermo..." and "vasodilation". We stood in the doorway for some time, watching OROTHO wander from one console to another, constantly talking to himself. Every now and again, he would stop at the large glass panel set on the far wall, and stare into it, face pressed against the glass. Wait a minute... I looked closer, and noticed three Creepers wandering around in the shadows behind the glass... Was that safe? OROTHO then shuffled over to a console to the right of the doorway, still engrossed in his ramblings and experiments...
Eventually OROTHO noticed us in the doorway and shuffled towards me, still talking to himself. He then went into a welcome, I guess, which I only managed to catch parts of.
"That's OROTHO for you! I'll show you the rest of the lab... Just don't touch anything."
THEROS led me over to the large glass screen ahead where the three Creepers were wandering around. How was this possible? How had they captured a Creeper, let alone three? And why weren't they blowing up. Thankfully, THEROS filled me in on those parts:
"Those Creepers have been there for some time. We managed to carry them in, once we hit them with a suppressant. After some tests, OROTHO managed to concoct some chemical that prevented the Creepers from exploding. As you may have already read, this was achieved by suppressing the release of adrenaline which occurred when they were exposed to large amounts of stress. If there is no adrenaline, there is no explosion. OROTHO is now working to understand how they utilise the adrenaline to become so volatile. We think he's on to something, although it's often like trying to get blood from a stone. Much of what we've learnt, we retrieved from the papers he writes and then stores away. He's very reclusive, but a genius!"
I looked back at OROTHO who was fiddling with a control panel, pulling levers. Suddenly, from behind the glass, the ceiling opened up, and a torrent of water gushed forth into the small area. The Creepers began bouncing and shuffling quickly away from the water, almost as if they were scared of it.
"Don't worry. We don't know what that's for either..."
I backed away from the glass, not knowing what to expect. I didn't entirely trust OROTHO. But then again he had managed to trap three Creepers behind a glass screen. I began to walk around the lab, in awe at the instrument panels that were set up; there were buttons, levers and flashing lights all over the place. None of them had labels, so presumably OROTHO had constructed this himself, and was therefore the only one who knew how to operate it... I walked over to the desk in the corner, and see stacks of neatly piled books placed on shelves. A document lay open on the table with the words "Osmotic hibernation effect on the durability of Creeper lifespan"... I stood there, staring blankly at it for awhile, trying to make sense of the words...
"Don't worry... I think that just means how long they take to drown!"
As I crossed back to the centre of the room, I noticed a large portion of the room was risen, with the centre constructed from glass. Looking down into it, I could see three zombies ambling and shuffling around below! I couldn't believe what I saw! OROTHO was a madman; he had allowed Creepers and zombies into the base of the L7, and the others had let him.
"They're sealed in a subterranean chamber with nearly a metre of plexi-glass standing between them and you. You're in no danger. Besides, we can flood the chamber with gas, UV light or lava if we need to destroy them."
"Destroy them? NO! OUT OUT OUT!!!"
OROTHO began shuffling quickly towards us, flicking his hands in a shooing motion.
"Looks like we've outstayed our welcome... Goodbye OROTHO... Good luck with... The Creeper thing..."
OROTHO stopped with a look of astonishment on his face. I left the room with THEROS, leaving OROTHO back in the lab.
"We all act very professionally around him usually. But just lately he seems to be conducting a fair number of pointless experiments, generally testing the extremes to which a Creeper can survive. He believes it's the key to understanding how they can spontaneously explode when adrenaline gets into their system. He's performed countless autopsies on dead Creepers, but has been unable to locate the source of the chemical that reacts with adrenaline. He thinks he's getting closer though... Not that it will do us much good. Our main priority are the portals. Come! We are all meeting in the discussion room to fill you in on the details.
I sat at one of the end chairs, beside THEROS, with the others seated elsewhere, and COLUS at the head of the table. COLUS began a speech about HoN Co., the guards, how the portals worked and the current progress. Then came the bit that was aimed at me. The others relaxed slightly, as if they had heard this before, and I concentrated on COLUS:
"A portal is a simple system for gaining access to the Nether, no doubt you already knew. The obsidian frame maintains the rift in a symbiotic relationship, allowing anything to make the journey through to the Nether. The creatures that you have seen here - Creepers, zombies, giant spiders... They all originate from the Nether, and have spread out across Minecraftia, thanks to HoN Co. The portals were found by accident, and activated by HoN Co. with the first contact. The team sent into the Nether were assumed to be destroyed, but not willing to risk any further loss of life, the portal was destroyed. Or so they would have you believe. It was in fact protected; all non-essential personnel involved were killed, and scientists were brought in to study it. Eventually, another group was sent in, composed of scientists and soldiers. When they came back, they brought with them samples of ores and minerals that possessed unfathomable amounts of energy within, that could be harnessed with a little effort. The only problem was, the ores and minerals lost much of they potential energy when travelling through the rift. They became as efficient as coal, which they had access to copious amounts of anyway!
"From here on, it is mere speculation. HoN Co. was approached by someone known only as "the figure"... It is believed that they gave HoN Co. the answer to gaining access to this power, but at a cost. A cost, it seems, HoN Co. is willing to pay. HoN Co. learnt of other portals that existed, and were eventually told what the portals could be used for. In brief, there is a single master portal; a main gateway to the Nether which cannot be destroyed. But it is not activate, nor can it be activated through electrostatic discharge or heat. It can only be activated when a number of normal portals within proximity to the master portal are activated. Once this happens, the master portal becomes active when struck by lightning, and all of the Nether leaks into Minecraftia. The two worlds become distorted, with much of the normal world being lost to the more powerful Nether world. The surrounding landscapes are transformed into that which occur in the Nether, and so the minerals and ores become available in Minecraftia. HoN Co. has access to these ores without the loss of energy, but at the cost of all life in Minecraftia!
"We have yet to find the location of the master portal, but we have been trying to destroy all portals we come across whenever we can! The more portals we destroy, the more we weaken HoN Co.'s plan! But we have learnt that HoN Co. may have recently found the master portal! It is thought to be buried deep beneath the surface, but HoN Co. are constructing a huge metallic structure from the surface to it below. Their hope is that the electrical energy from a bolt of lightning will activate the master portal, and begin the transmogrification of Minecraftia, once the surrounding portals are activated. In summation, we need you to locate the metal tower, locate the master portal, and gather information. UOPETA and THEROS will accompany you if necessary, and can guide you accordingly. We will need to gather as much information as possible so we can act as swiftly and efficiently as possible. I know it is a lot to ask of you Syeonyx, but we need your help. You have already proven yourself a worthy brother to the Lone 7. We are willing to make you an honorary brother of the Lone 7. But of course, you have the option to leave at any time. It is your choice. We will leave you to decide."
They all left the table, leaving me to try and grasp the enormity of the situation... They wanted me to do what?

The Lone 7
I looked closer at it... It was definitely a source of light emerging from the surface below! How could that be? I looked around, and again up at the sky to ensure that it couldn’t be a trick of the light... It wasn’t! There in the middle of the pool was a small amount of light radiating upwards... There was definitely something down there! Reading the latest note from THEROS, I determined that this was likely to be the most defensible location I had visited so far, so this must be the place! I didn’t know what to do though... How would I get to it? I decided to choose the obvious method; removing the bow and quiver, the sword and putting the note all back in the tent, I then waded into the pool. It was very shallow; even in the centre it was only up to my waist. When I got to the spot, I looked down... There was a hatch thing, almost like a grate, but with small glass windows in it. Below, I could see a wood panelled tunnel descending downwards, with torches placed through it! This WAS it!
I bent down into the hole when the grate was and began pulling. It didn't budge! I tried again, trying to get some leverage on the underside but with no luck. I tried a few more times, but never managing to actually shift the grate one inch! It must be the water pressure preventing me from opening it... Or possibly a safety feature that stops it from being opened if water is running over it... To stop water flooding into the tunnel... How would I get into it then? I turned around and waded back to the shore where Chiron sat there panting... I climbed out and sat by the fire trying to dry off... Now what? Did I have to wait until they opened it? Did I have to wait until day time, or did I have to find access to it myself? I sat there watching Chiron bound into the pool, paddle to the centre, bark a few times and then come back. He did this three or four times, before finally coming out and sitting beside me. I think he was tired... I was too, but I was too intrigued to sleep! Here was the final part of the journey, and I still had one hurdle to jump... But how?
I sat beside the bonfire for some time, staring into the middle of the pool, wondering how to get to it... I couldn’t open it if there was water on top of it... Was that even the reason? It could be activated from inside, which meant I had to wait! I looked around, suddenly wondering where Chiron was. He had been sitting next to me for some time, but I think he had slunk off to go exploring... Or to cause trouble. I could hear some scratching and scrabbling nearby, but the glare from the fire made it hard to see. Standing up, I moved away, and saw Chiron standing on a small incline a little way from the tent, digging at the ground with keen interest. What was it now? Going over to him, I looked down at where he was digging; it was just sand...
I stood there watching him for awhile, wondering what had caught his attention, but I just assumed he was digging them for the sake of digging! I went to go back to the bonfire when he stopped digging and began barking at me. Turning around, I knew he had found something, but at the time I thought it was nothing of significance to me. Going up to him, I looked down and saw coal... So what? Coal... Wait a minute... Coal! Coal was often predominantly found underground! I rushed back to the tent and took the pickaxe from my bag. Chiron became all excited and kept dashing back and forth between the tent and the small coal deposit. I began mining it, and within a few moments, I had exposed more coal beneath the initial layer. Was this just coal, or was it the actual place I was looking for? After a few moments more, I had exposed more coal, and had made a small hole to the same level as the surrounding area. Some sand began to pile into the hole, and I had to push it aside, and scoop it out with my hands. Eventually I ran out of coal to mine, and my heart sank... Now what? Looking around, I thought that there could be more coal still around, and began pushing large mounds of sand aside. On the right side I found another coal deposit, but within a few hits of the pickaxe, I noticed something odd; the pieces of coal were falling into a small recess beneath it. What was this? Continuing to dig, I eventually unearthed a small hole full of coal. Removing the lumps, I eventually found a small wooden stick buried into the ground... What was this? Tugging on it to see what it was, instead of coming away, it shifted towards me, and I heard a horrid scraping sound, followed by splashing and sloshing from behind me. Turning around, I looked into the pool. What the...? Had I just done that? Had I found the lever?
Where there had been water, now stood a small sand walkway that had pushed itself upwards from the floor below. A small amount of sand also formed a circle around the centre of the pool where the hatch had been, and the water had drained from within. Could this be it? Going over to the tent, I put the pickaxe back in the bag, slung it over my shoulder and readied an arrow with the bow. I didn’t know what to expect. This could still be a HoN Co. trap... Anything was possible. I made my way across the surprisingly stable sand walkway into the centre of the pool, and tried the hatch. It swung open easily with no effort. What would I find below?
I descended the wooden ladder into the tunnel below, passing torches – the source of the light – as I went. I got to the bottom and felt a large heat source to my left. Turning in that direction, I noticed something unexpected; a lava pit! Well, it was more of a lava channel barring access to something over the other side. Wait a minute... There was someone there! I crept closer and saw that a man standing in green armour carrying a sword stood behind a stone barricade. He glared at me, his eyes the only visible part of his face. I called out to him, unsure as to any other viable course of action: “Hello? Who are you?”. I felt kind of stupid after I said it, but I compounded that feeling by then stating: “My name’s Syeonyx!”! Despite the distance, I saw him nod, and before my eyes, the lava parted in the middle! I stared in disbelief! A wide sand pathway had arisen from beneath the lava! Was I expected to cross that? Looking back at the figure, I heard him utter a single word:
“Come”
I doubted this was anything to do with HoN Co. ... This was the L7!
I crossed the sand bridge over the lava, and as I set foot on the stone slabs on the other side, the sand began to sink back beneath the lava. Looking forward now, the figure was still there, sword held ready. The figure boomed a command that caught me a little off guard:
“Prove to me you are the one named ‘Syeonyx’!”
I stood there for a moment, a little dumbfounded, but eventually I dove into the bag and took out my diary and the notes THEROS had sent me. He then spoke again
“This does not prove your identity! Show me proof!”
I stood there, wondering what more I could use to prove who I was... Then it struck me. The S stone! Putting the papers and diary back into the bag, I carefully removed the pouch and slipped the stone from within onto my hand. The figure’s eyes looked at the stone and nodded.
“Good.”
The barricade he stood behind disappeared into the floor and ceiling, and he stepped forward taking the stone and pouch from me:
“I will take it from here! Come, you must meet the other five. They have been dying to meet you!”
I followed the figure down an elaborate set of marble and stone checkered steps, through a large, open passage. The walls were absent of any decoration aside from the marble and stone construction; no paintings, images, notes, papers or even dirt and dust! It was immaculate in every sense of the word! Eventually, the passage opened into a giant room which split off into three directions; to the left, right and straight ahead. In the centre of the room stood seven chairs and a table, with four figures seated around it. They all looked my way, and stood up, before descending the small steps. I stopped a little short of the steps, but the figure in green continued walking towards another figure dressed in red. He took the centre of the stage, and stood there whilst the green figure whispered into his ear, before turning and standing off to the left. The figure in the centre began to speak with a slightly deeper voice than that of the figure in green:
“It is good to finally meet with you Syeonyx. We have heard of you heroic deeds you have performed unquestioningly for us. You were right to make the decisions you did. Your successful campaign to destroy the current portals you have discovered have put us at a position where not meeting you would have been impossible! You have discovered us, through the help of THEROS here, and have performed the tasks asked of you, regardless of the dangers. We owe you a great debt! We have also learnt you have discovered the fate of one our brothers, Jonas McElderry. He suffered at the hands of HoN Co. and the figure, but was able to safeguard the Solus stone until it was able to be retrieved. Am I right in thinking you have brought it with you?”
The green figure moved back to the red figure and placed the pouch into his outstretched hand.
“Excellent! We have a large task complete thanks to you, but we still have a huge task ahead of us. What you have done so far has merely slowed them down. We need to lead a final assault against the remaining positions to remove their threat altogether. But enough about all of this, we haven’t introduced ourselves. I am Colus, the head brother of the Lone 7!”
The figure in green stepped forward:
“I am THEROS. I am the cartographer of the Lone 7, and have been the one keeping in contact with you.”
The from left to right, the remaining three stepped forward and stated their name and position within the L7:
“I am UOPETA, the scout of the Lone 7. I have been tracking you in secret every moment you ever left the house of Jonas McElderry.”
“I am AMPHIS, the curator of the Lone 7. I document all scientific and intel-related documents for future use. I am almost always in the library.”
“I am THEXIS, head of communications, intelligence and reconnaissance. It’s my job to keep everyone informed.”
From left to right, I remembered them by the coloured armour they wore: THEROS wore green, UOPETA wore blue, COLUS wore red, AMPHIS wore gold and THEXIS wore purple. COLUS stepped forward again:
“There is a sixth, but he is currently engrossed in scientific study. He is named ‘OROTHO’ and is most recognisable; he is the only one to not wear a head mask or helm. We so rarely remove our armour as we never know when we will need it. Only when we are missing parts of our armour may you truly relax! Our base is secure and heavily guarded. We have numerous hidden passageways and tunnels that allow us entrance and exit into the main atrium, before you. The entire place is also rigged with dynamite; if we come under heavy attack and are forced to retreat, we have the option to destroy the entire base, along with all intel and data inside.”
THEROS stepped forward and began to speak:
“We know this is a lot to take in right now, and we will give you ample time to catch up. For now, we will retrieve Chiron and your equipment from the surface. No doubt your companion is pining for you, and your equipment may draw unwanted attention! For now, we will allow you to rest in the quarters of our late brother SERVERE, whom you knew as Jonas McElderry. We will prepare a meal for you and your wolf if you request it, and leave you to grasp the situation alone. This is for the best as any interference may confuse you further. We will see you in the morning, Syeonyx!"
They all bowed to me and then went their separate ways; COLUS and THEXIS went around the table and straight ahead, UOPETA began to go back towards the entrance whilst AMPHIS turned to the left and headed down a separate passage. THEROS remained and showed me down the right tunnel which had a sign posted saying "QUARTERS & MESS HALL". A large barricade stood in our way, but THEROS pulled a small lever on the wall and each section withdrew back into hidden notches set into the surrounding stone and marble. The way it was done, you couldn't even tell there was a hidden door there! THEROS showed me past a large marble table, and an intricate kitchen into a room. It had a sign posted above it saying "SERVERE" and looked like it hadn't been used in awhile. There was a bed, some chests and bookshelves scattered around.
"I hope you are comfortable here. We all mourn the passing of our brother SERVERE, but we believe you will serve as a great brother in his stead. I will bring you refreshments and allow you to come to terms with what you have experienced recently. You will need the time."
THEROS left the room, leaving me alone. What would I do now? A few moments later, UOPETA returned along with Chiron and my tent.
"You have a strong and willful wolf there! It reminds me of ours. You will meet him in the morning. Doubtless you have met him already!"
UOPETA then left the room. Chiron bounded at me, barking, and tail wagging. He seemed truly happy! I didn't know how to feel...
THEROS brought me a wonderful meal! Steak, with a variety of vegetables and some strange flat bread! Chiron was given something similar with less vegetables. They also had access to wine and beer! How did they manage that? I was having trouble growing wheat, let alone a wide variety of vegetables and other crops! It was delicious! Afterwards, Chiron immediately curled into a ball and went promptly to sleep. I sat on the edge of the bed, trying to mull it all over... What was the next step...? Could I trust them? I had hundreds more questions swirling inside my head, but I was far too tired to worry about them now! I lay back on the most comfortable bed I had slept on in days, and sat there for some time. I just hoped it seemed clearer in the morning...

Day 81: I think I found it... For real this time!!!
I woke up to a surprise this morning! Not an unwanted one, but definitely a surprise! I woke with the sun again, obviously facing East again, and as I went to get out of the tent, I saw a piece of paper down on the ground! Now aside from my diary and Jonas' diary, I wasn't carrying any paper with me, so it wasn't mine! Walking over, and bending down to pick it up, I noticed it had the familiar scrawled letters on that I recognised as belonging to THEROS. Sure enough, at the base of the note, the name "THEROS" was also written. The note was simple: "Go back to the most defensible location you have visited and wait til night. All will become clear... THEROS"! "The most defensible location you have visited..."... Which one did that refer to? I was still only a matter of metres away from one of them, but I doubted they meant that one, otherwise it wouldn't say "Go back..." as an instruction! It either meant the lava pit... Or the small pool of water surrounded by cliff walls on three sides... Was it really there?
I assumed THEROS was referring back to the location with the three cliffs... That would be the most defensible of all, except maybe the last one I found. The only problem was it was about a day's walk away, maybe more... I would be spending all day walking to one location, and I still might not even get there... I suppose the only good thing about it was the note said to look around at night. If I got there in time, it would be night! I remember something similar being mentioned before by THEROS about searching for something at night... It was when I had to piece together that message from those individual words! I had to look towards the Eastern sky at night. I did that and found an outcrop with an array of torches attached to it, with a chest buried beneath the outcrop with a book in it. I had gained a lot of information then... Presumably it was the same principle; I was looking for a source of light. But where? In the water? In one of the cliffs? I was not prepared at all to climb cliffs again! If I did I could be in trouble! Not wanting to waste any more time, I quickly packed the tent away and set off. I had a lot of ground to cover, and I might not necessarily get there in time!
I began heading South East to get back to the crossing. The current area I had been on took a while to get to as I spent a lot of time trying to find a way across the water. I didn't relish the idea of going for a swim, and that still remained. Unfortunately it added about two hours to my journey because I couldn't cross straight over to the mainland. Then I had to navigate around a pool, the long way around adding a further hour, and then continue heading South East. Once again, I stuck to the coast, and more or less followed the exact opposite route as I did to get here. I would follow the coastline until the location was directly due East of my position and then I would head East. If all went well, I could get there without needing the map or compass, and without stopping. Although that partially relied on Chiron not messing around or becoming distracted as he always did! I just kept walking, and he would get the idea and continue following. God, I hope this is the right place!
By the time I got around to the coast after navigating around the pool it was already midday! I had stopped periodically for a small snack, thinking I was actually ahead of schedule, but apparently not. The cloud cover is quite thick, and tracking the sun is difficult, even at the best of times! I just hope it didn't start raining! A few hours of travelling due South along the coast and I made it to the point where I could begin heading East. I was still a little weary heading inland because it was difficult to see anything, especially if the tree cover was thick! A HoN Co. guard could be hiding around here at any point and catch me unaware! I tried not to think about this as I passed caves and under trees. The journey was arduous enough without adding an element of fear to it! Eventually the sky began to darken and I started to jog. I needed to get there before it got too dark. Who knows what could be lurking around... I began thinking about the zombies and giant spiders, and a chill ran down my spine! Oddly enough, the same reaction was not felt when I thought about the Creepers... Since reading the information detailing the Creepers in terms of their anatomy etc., I had actually began to grow curious about them. What were they? Where did they come from? Well, I think I knew the answer to the last one. A few moments later, just as the sky turned to a midnight blue colour, I emerged from the treeline in front of the pool! Thank god!
I've set up a tent and Chiron is currently curled up on the sleeping bag. I'm not sure how much sleep I'll get tonight, but I doubted it would be much! I had also started a campfire, and was roasting some meat. But despite this, Chiron remained asleep... Or at least very still! I looked around the area, in the pool, up at the cliff walls, in the trees and everywhere in general. But I couldn't see any light at all!
Maybe I was at the wrong place... Maybe the lava pit was the right place after all... But then... Surely the light source there would be the lava pit itself...? How would that be a clue? I moved away from the fire, strolling up and down the edge of the pool, trying to think of what to do... Did I stay here and hope something happened, or should I try and go back to the lava pit...? I headed back to the tent, looking out across the pool of water. It was a beautiful clear night... Odd considering all the clouds during the day... As I headed back to the tent I noticed something... I thought it was a trick of the light, but as I looked closer, I could see a small amount of light near to the centre of the pool! Looking above for the moon, I noticed it wasn't in the right position to cast light like that... What was that?

Day 80: I may be wandering around for some time...
Today was the day I either found what I was searching for, or continued searching for an unknown period of time! I had only two locations left on the map to locate and search, before going to the backup plan and searching the less obvious areas that I could see on the map. If that failed I had two options: A. search the entire landmass for any sign of it, which could literally take years! Or B. go back to Jonas' house knowing I had failed to find the location. Obviously there were other various solutions, but the stated ones were the only ones I could determine. As I go to one of the locations, one of the L7 may greet me there and show me inside. Or I could be found by the guards and taken back to the cell! Any number of scenarios could play out! I just hoped it wasn't any of the latter!
Today I was going to be travelling farther than any of the other days to find the locations. The next one in line was the mysterious red dot, which I assumed was lava! It was the most likely thing to represented by a red dot, and was surrounded by a small amount of sand which could be seen as a "maw". Additionally, lava is very rarely found on the surface, and therefore meets the criteria of the second part of the message. After packing everything away, I set off to the West, so that I can meet with the coastline and then follow it along to the next location. I find this is a much faster and accurate method of finding the necessary locations as the curve of the coastline keeps you on the right path. It took about an hour to get to the edge of the mainland, and then I merely proceeded North along the edge. It would be quite some time until I came across the lava pit, but I guessed it was worth waiting. This was surely the right place! It fit the message perfectly! As I continued up the coastline, I came across something odd. A day or two ago, I had come across some trees with no leaves or branches! Just the bare trunks were exposed, with scorch marks suggesting a fire. Possibly the result of a lightning storm which ignited the leaves but left the rigid trunks behind. Well this tree was the complete opposite! There was no sign of any trunk at, and the branch and leaf coverage consumed the entire tree! After pushing my way through, I found an incredibly think trunk protruding a few metres into the sky, with branches coming off from it at almost every conceivable point! What was going on with these trees? Had this got anything to do with the portal or the Nether? I doubted it, but it was still very weird!
This diary is already boring enough as it is without me adding to it about noting down every step I took! Then again, I don't suppose a diary is supposed to be incredibly riveting! I continued along the coast as far as I was allowed, before heading off inland again to make my towards the lava pit... Well, presumed lava pit... To the North West, the area was very hilly, with some sections of land protruding metres into the air, often turning from gentle mounds to soaring cliffs! This was the type of terrain I was expecting to hide a base! With this type of terrain, you could probably have a surface base and it would still remain hidden! Continuing Westwards inland, I eventually rose over the top of the hill and my eyes were instantly drawn to a specific location in the distance! It was red, it was flowing, and from the steam it was producing, it was likely to be very hot! Lava! I knew it! I headed towards it, feeling the warmth as I neared within a few yards. Could the base really be around here somewhere?
After a thorough search around the pit, I found nothing else that could indicate the base being around here... The only thing that could belong underground was the lava itself, and I severely doubted the based was hidden under the lava! Looking around, I also noticed that the area wasn't a brilliant place to put a base, even underground. There were no tall structures to mask the area from view, and why put the base in a location where people are likely to be drawn to? From the moment I found the little red dot, I knew I would visit it at some point, so having it as the location for a base would be stupid. I took the map out and crossed it off... One left... That means I've either left the best til last, or I've missed it!
For the last hole, I had to backtrack for an hour or so to a point along the coast which was thin enough to cross over shallow water. I eventually found a suitable spot which didn't require me to get wet at all, which was a bonus! It had passed midday, and the sun had begun to slip into mid to late afternoon. I didn't have long, and I had at least another two hour walk to this last place! I stuck to the coastline for as long as possible until I needed to head inland, all the while travelling to the West. Eventually, the ground underfoot became more sandy, and it wasn't long until a small desert region lay out before me. From the map, the location was close to the water's edge and within this sandy region. After about twenty minutes of sticking to the coast, I came across the only part that could match with the map. It seemed to be a very precise hole dug out into the ground that was filled with water. The sides were perfectly smooth except for some minor dents and protrusions. Surely this wasn't natural...?
After thoroughly searching it, I couldn't find anything that belonged underground! But the shape of it was most extraordinary! It was a perfect square, almost, with steep walls on all sides but the one facing the water! I couldn't think of a better place to put an underground base, except for maybe at the one I visited yesterday! I was so sure that this was the location! It had only just begun to get dark, but I erected my tent and started camping early. Maybe if I stayed here long enough, they would notice and give me a sign... It was a long shot, but if anything unusual was likely to happen, I wanted to be around to see it! I just had a feeling about this one!
I've been here for a few hours now... Nothing has changed; no indication from L7, no lights or signs. Just a hole in the ground that was unusually precise in shape! I had seen something similar before back when I was searching for Jonas McElderry's house, but this was something else! The walls were sheer and the base of the pool was perfectly flat! I was half expecting the water to drain away and a huge hole to appear, with a platform ascending to meet me! But nothing. Not as much as a sound! Maybe this wasn't the right place... Well if I camped outside long enough and this was the right place, the L7 were likely to notice me and alert me to their presence! I've had to keep Chiron in from jumping off the edge into the water, which he has already done twice! I took the map out and crossed it out... At least if this wasn't the place, I would remember. I don't really know what to do now... I've begun to look at the map in detail, looking for anything else that constitutes as a hole or "maw"... But with limited luck... I'm going to catch a reasonably early night and look at the map with fresh eyes... I just I have more luck then!

Day 79: Still nothing... Getting worried now!
I woke up late today... Well, not very late, but later than I expected. I was about an hour behind yesterday, and with the distances I was travelling, that made a rather big difference.I quickly packed away the tent and sleeping gear, and forewent breakfast. I could have something as I went. I think Chiron was awake before me; he was sitting up when I got out of the sleeping bag, and I had a feeling he had gone wandering. It didn't really matter too much, as long as he hadn't alerted anyone. If there was indeed anyone to alert! With everything set, I continued to the North to the fourth location, hoping this would be the one.
I had to make constant use of the map and compass to ensure I was heading in the right direction. I could no longer rely on the edge of the coast to guide me as I was inland now. It was more or less a straight line - as the crow flies - from where I made camp to where I was heading. Of course walking it was another matter entirely. There were hills, steep drops, trees and small pools of water to contend with, which was made harder when Chiron felt the urge to explore every one! I continued with the method I had yesterday by continuing to walk, and he soon caught up, feeling a little put out no doubt by my lack of interest in his exploration. The sky was darker than it had been yesterday, and I expected a storm to pass over soon. It was also mildly foggy which made looking for vantage points a waste of time. Every now an then, a few spots of drizzle would begin, forcing me to protect the map by putting it back in the bag. But it was always short lived, and would stop within minutes of starting. In the end, I opted to leave the map in the bag and keep carrying the compass instead. I knew it was merely a case of travelling North until I hit the coast again, so I could then take the map out then if I had deviated off course slightly. I really hoped that I would find the base today; I had begun to tire of camping and walking, and not having a stable and safe shelter above my head. I had begun to miss my own house, but I had known for a long time that it was lost for good. The only was I would get that back is if I turned out to be the greatest swordsman whoever lived. Otherwise I was mincemeat!
I crossed a small copse of trees and emerged from the top of a hill to see water stretched out before me. It is only a small body of water, linked to the main sea through a small inlet to the East. Well, that's what I thought until I decided to gain a better vantage point and scout it out. Instead of being a pool of water surrounded by high walls of dirt, as expected. It instead was a small wall further out into the water, with a thin connection to the mainland on one side. There was no way the L7 would be anywhere near here; even I could tell it was a terrible place to defend if it came to it. I performed the necessary checks for anything that should appear underground, therefore searching for everything ranging from coal to diamond. Nothing.
The next location was a little more favourable for my kind of exploration; it was along the coast! All I had to do was follow the coastline to the North West until I found it. From the map, I could tell this location was a little more enclosed than the last. It would probably be easier to navigate around and search for anything that would appear "underground". It had occurred to me that every location I had checked that fit the "maw" description had actually been a pool of water. Had I been doing this wrong? It was hard to find a hole or a "mouth" on an aerial view map that wasn't filled with water. Unless it was lined with a strange material... Maybe that's what the second part of the note referred to. Maybe the hole couldn't be found until you fully understood the second part of the message! So instead of looking for a hole, or a pool of water, I should look for a small area on the map that was composed of an odd material, possibly found underground! I stopped for a few minutes to look at the map. It was near to midday, and I decided to have a rest and have something to eat whilst I searched. I was going to start a fire to cook some meat, but thought better of it. Chances are I would only be resting for a few minutes, not nearly long enough to cook anything! Sitting beneath a tree, I took out a loaf of bread and gave half to Chiron. He seemed a little put out by this, but he ate it anyway. I ripped off a chunk and ate is slowly whilst studying the map. I scanned it a few times, looking for anything that fit the description. My eyes were always drawn to this one point on the map to the North West where a small red dot indicated, what I could assume to be, a lava pool. This was definitely unusual! Although I had found a surface lava pool around my area near to the beginning of establishing my house! Aside from that, I couldn't see any location on the map that screamed out at me. Putting the map away, I stood up and continued along, following the coastline.
The fifth location turned out to be worse than the last! It was a large pool of water, maybe even a lake, on a flat expanse of land. I really hope the L7 didn't set up their base here. If they did, they were more stupid than I thought! It was the least defensible location I could possible imagine. The surrounding area was flat for quite some distance, and there was no tree coverage, or cliffs to mask the area. A guard wouldn't have to be very far away to easily spot someone emerging from a base hidden around here!
I didn't stay long at the fifth location. Just long enough to make a quick check of the area. Not surprisingly I couldn't find anything that wasn't dirt or grass! Taking out the map, I crossed it from the map, along with the fourth, and faced South West. My next location was gong to take me back inland, so I would need the map out again. It was into mid afternoon, and the sky was still dark with rain clouds. It was going to rain tonight, at some point at least!
The sky has got darker since heading inland. I think it's nearly night, but with the cloud cover, it's hard to determine the position of the sun. Within about two hours of leaving the fifth location, I arrived at the last one of the day. It was a very good position to set up, from my point of view anyway. It was essentially a small pool of water hidden on three sides by large cliffs, and a copse of trees on the last. From above it looked like another pool of water, and you wouldn't suspect it at all. So far it was the most likely location to where the L7 were hiding. Putting the map away, I searched the area thoroughly for any sign of something unusual. I couldn't find anything! I was so determined that this was likely to be the place, and yet I couldn't find anything that hinted at this being the base of the L7. Obviously there were no signs or markers, but I was assuming I would find coal, or iron, or maybe even gold somewhere which I could mine and find something to help me gain access... But there was nothing. I sat at the edge of the water for some time, whilst the sky grew darker and darker.
I set up the camp for the night there. The sky was too dark for it to just be rain clouds. But after moments of erecting my tent, a downpour started. I knew it. Just as well I hadn't decided to continue on for a bit longer! Chiron has just shot in after having a little paddle around in the pool. Odd how he likes to swim, but hates the rain! I took out the map and crossed the sixth location off. Just two more to go... Well, at least another two. Who knows how long I'd be doing this for...
I'm facing the tent East this time. I have quite a journey ahead of me tomorrow, and I want to be up and about at the crack of dawn! It would take about six to seven hours to get to the more noticeable location tomorrow, followed by another two hour hike to the last area. If I didn't find it then, I would probably have to search the map again for more "holes"... I had a good feeling about the red dot. It was presumably lava, and this was almost exclusively found underground, unlike coal and iron, which could sometimes be found on the surface. My only concern was that lava was A. very noticeable, and B. very dangerous. If they had set up camp there, they would have to be careful about how they have set it up. I doubted they would be beneath the lava pit! Or would they...
